I am thrilled to share some exciting news: the highly anticipated Fontainebleau Las Vegas is poised to open its doors to guests this upcoming winter. This monumental $3.7-billion project stands as the second newly constructed resort to grace the iconic Las Vegas Strip in the last decade, following a remarkable $1-billion expansion of its legendary predecessor, the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

In the words of Brett Mufson, President of Fontainebleau Development, “The opening of Fontainebleau Las Vegas marks a significant milestone in our company’s legacy, as we look to create an era-defining moment in Las Vegas history.” Interestingly, this isn’t Fontainebleau Development Chairman and CEO Jeff Soffer’s inaugural venture into the Las Vegas arena. In 2004, he collaborated with MGM Mirage to bring forth The Signature at MGM Grand. The following year, he made a groundbreaking announcement that Fontainebleau would grace the northern end of Las Vegas Boulevard.

As we anticipate its grand unveiling on December 13th, Fontainebleau Las Vegas is set to make an indelible mark on the cityscape. It will be a towering presence, boasting 67 stories and an impressive 3,644 rooms, becoming the tallest occupiable building on the iconic Las Vegas Strip.

Stepping into this splendid establishment, guests will be greeted with a unique arrival experience, designed by the renowned David Collins Studio. The studio’s signature aesthetic will guide guests as they journey beyond the elevator banks and into the lobby lounge, reminiscent of their work at the esteemed Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Doha, Qatar, and the illustrious Harrods department store in London.

As for the accommodations, they are adorned in shades of cerulean and chrome, accentuated by coral highlights. The rooms exude modernity, featuring mercury-glass mirrors, brass bowtie drawer pulls, and surfaces adorned with gray wood veneer, pearlescent shagreen, and Arabescato marble. Each room is graced with floor-to-ceiling windows, luxurious soaking tubs, and custom Beautyrest mattresses.

Beyond the lobby and bar area, an expansive casino awaits, with curvilinear walls that defy the conventional low-ceiling, dimly lit Vegas casino design. The ceiling soars to an impressive 42 feet, heralding a new era in casino architecture. A breathtaking 80-foot-wide and 60-foot-tall chandelier, composed of 1,200 bowtie-shaped glass columns, graces the space. Surrounding the perimeter on the first and second floors, over 30 luxury retailers offer prime views of the casino action to visiting guests.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas promises a wealth of entertainment options, from a 3,800-seat, 90,000-square-foot theater to exclusive experiences curated by Miami’s nightlife impresario, David Grutman. Among these offerings is a 50,000-square-foot outpost of his famed nightclub, Liv, and a forthcoming “stadium-styled” 35,000-square-foot Liv Beach, featuring a two-story day club built around the DJ booth.

Liv Beach is just one facet of the resort’s impressive six-acre pool complex on the third-floor roof deck. This oasis houses four bars, two restaurants, and 2,300 square feet of gaming space. Beyond the pool area, wellness enthusiasts will find solace in the expansive 14,000-square-foot fitness center and the 55,000-square-foot Lapis Spa, bearing the same name as its counterpart at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. This spa complex boasts 44 treatment rooms, a salt cave, an herbal inhalation room, and various saunas, including one dedicated to Aufguss, where sauna masters employ choreographed towel flicks to distribute heat throughout the space. Additionally, there will be co-ed wet rooms, featuring lighting that evolves throughout the day.

For fitness enthusiasts, the gym promises to be one of the best-stocked in the city, featuring top-of-the-line equipment, including Peloton bikes, Woodway treadmills, Hydrow Rowers, VersaClimbers, Echo bikes, and more. Advanced strength equipment includes a Jacob’s Ladder, HIIT modular system, and dedicated areas for sled pushes and tractor tire flips, a first for the Strip. A movement studio will offer daily yoga, Pilates, and stretching classes.

The culinary offerings at Fontainebleau Las Vegas are nothing short of extraordinary, with a total of 36 bars and restaurants. Notably, South Beach’s renowned Papi Steak, celebrated for its Glatt Kosher tomahawks and Siberian caviar–topped Monop potatoes, will make its mark in the Las Vegas dining scene. Komodo, another gem from David Grutman, known for its vibrant pan-Asian cuisine, will be joined by a third outpost of this culinary sensation. La Fontaine, spearheaded by Laëtitia Rouabah, formerly executive chef at Benoit in New York City, will focus on elevated French fare, while Evan Funke, renowned for his L.A. establishments, will launch his first out-of-market restaurant at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, offering exquisite Italian cuisine.

The resort will also feature a traditional steakhouse, Don’s Prime, paying homage to Soffer’s father, complete with a dry-aged meat locker. Chris Arellanes, the mastermind behind Kyu, will bring his grilling expertise to the fourth outpost of his renowned restaurant. British restaurateur Alan Yau, known for his iconic establishments like Wagamama, Hakkasan, and Yauatcha, will create a dining experience reminiscent of a Chinese palace, along with a more relaxed noodle den.

Last but not least, esteemed chefs Masa Ito and Kevin Kim, the culinary duo behind New York City’s Ito sushi counter, will introduce the city’s most exclusive omakase spot, as well as a temaki counter at a more affordable price point.

With an impressive array of offerings, Fontainebleau Las Vegas promises an unforgettable experience for all who visit. For those interested in reservations and more information, please visit fontainebleaulasvegas.com.
